The Burnaby School DistrictÌýAdministration Office will be closed on Monday, December 22 for winter break. The office will reopen on Monday, January 5 to regular office hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Burnaby Schools will be closed on Monday, December 22 with classes back in session on January 5.

°Õ³ó±ðÌý¹ú²ú´«Ã½ CCE Administration office at ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ NorthÌýwill beÌýclosed on the following dates: December 24 at 11:30am, December 25 – 26 and from December 29 – January 2, 2026. The office willÌýreopen onÌýMonday, January 5. When the office is open, registrations may be completed in person or over the phone (604-296-6901, ext. 604600).

RiverwayÌýAdult Learning CentreÌýwill beÌýclosed over the holidays, and willÌýreopen on Monday, JanuaryÌý5.

Marian/SappertonÌýwill beÌýclosed on the following dates: December 24 at 11:30am, December 25 – 26 and from December 29 – January 2, 2026. The office willÌýreopen on Monday, January 5.

Programs of Choice offer students a unique opportunity to explore their interests, support their strengths or get exposed to a career.

For most programs,Ìýapplications are accepted in February to be considered for priority placementÌýfor the following school year. Application is program-specific.ÌýLearn more below.

Students who would like to attend a program at a school other than their home school may need to apply for a Cross-District Transfer.

SecondaryÌý

Each of our eight secondary schools offer programs that give students a chance to excel in a specific area of interest while fulfilling their academic requirements. Students don’t necessarily need to live in the school’s catchment to apply.

Learning options include Programs of Choice in technology, sports, trades, career training, and educational enrichment such as French Immersion, Advanced Placement courses, and an AP Capstone program.

Programs of Choice include Career EducationÌýoptions – Ìýsome of which allow students to earn wages along with credits toward graduation.

At the elementary level, students have language options such as early and late French Immersion, as well as educational enrichment opportunities including Education Through the Arts.

The Strategic Plan sets the direction of the Burnaby School District for the next five years.ÌýIt identifies our focus and articulates the District’s vision, mission, values, priorities, and sets out measurable goals and objectives.
